During an interview of Winners of the Paiya Contest held by the Behind Woods, a visitor questioned the director of Paiya Mr.Linusamy about his next upcoming movie.

To the fan’s question Lingusamy said that he is working on a new movie that will have Silambarasan as hero and also there is a buzz in the kollywood that Lingusamy has decided to cast Paiya heroine Tamanna with Simbu !

And finally Lingusamy declined to tell any details about the storyline of his upcoming movie.

Sania Mirza and Shoaib Malik Wedding

The Indian tennis player Sania Mirza finally married the Pakistan Cricket player Shoaib Malik at Hotel Taj Krishna on Monday afternoon.

It seems only the close family relatives attended the marriage function ( Nikah ) of these two sports stars and it was reported only 70 were in attendance at the marriage ceremony.

In the even of their Nikah, Sania was in her mother’s Red Saree while shoaib was in a black sherwani.

They planned the Mehandi function on tomorrow and the reception on 15th. Its said that the reception will be a gala event with lot of celebrities from India and Pakistan.

We bought their 3G Service on the day of launch and experienced lot of issues upto last few days before. So we decided not to publish about this in our portal until their service works perfectly. After lot of calls to BSNL Customer Care ( Note : Please don’t waste time like us in Customer Care. They will never mind you.. ) and lot of direct visits to the BSNL Exchange here in Namakkal, we finally got the 3G Service working perfectly only on 6th April 2010.

BSNL 3G Namakkal

The issue we faced was really very strange. First, we bough a BSNL 3G Sim Card from the Mobile Department in the BSNL Exchange. After the activation, we inquired the officers their about the Data Plans which they published the prices on their advertisement notices and got a strange reply from them. They simply told us that the data plans are for the BSNL EVDO Card and not for BSNL 3G Sim Card and also they told using BSNL 3G we can only make Video Calls and can’t use internet. This made us to understand that the staffs their are not aware of the 3G Completely.

So we sat their for few hours and explained them about the 3G and finally they made calls to Higher officials and said the Unlimited Data voucher price is Rs.2,756/- and we recharged our BSNL 3G Sim with that voucher. Again we have to struggle a lot to get their settings. Finally we got everything ready and started to use internet on our office desktop computer using BSNL 3G !

Here the extreme issue we faced while trying to test out BSNL 3G’s promised data speed of upto 3.6 Mbps ! ( Mobile Broadband ). We put a download of a 700 MB file in Download manager and started to download it. It started and the speed of the download went from 1 kbps and went upto 294 kbps and immediately when the connection reaches its top speed it got hang up !

So we decided to ask about this in Customer care but the customer care people said we will check and get back to you within 24 hrs but till to date no call ! ( We kept calling customer care and got the same reply ). Then we decided to visit the BSNL officials in the Exchange and went. Their we met the head of 3G department and said about our issue. She asked us to come after 2 days as its new for her and admitted that she not fully knowledgeable about 3G ( What a true officer ). And after 2 days we again visited her and after our arrival only she started the investigation by calling many persons. After speaking with more than 4 persons finally she said it seems to be the equipments were not installed properly yet. So she requested us to wait for 2 or 3 days to resolve the issue.

And finally the BSNL 3G in Namakkal started to work perfectly from 6th April only. After the continuous testing of the BSNL 3G only we posting this news as its working very perfectly now !

BSNL 3G in Namakkal

The BSNL 3G Service will provide us more features like video calling, high speed internet browsing through mobile phone and also we can enjoy VoIP services on our 3G Compatible mobile phone.

The BSNL Officials said, the existing customers who on 2G can easily get migrated into 3G Service without replacing the existing Sim Card and also without paying any extra charges, just by sending a SMS.

We visited the BSNL Office here in Namakkal and asked about the launch of their 3G Service yesterday. The staffs at the office told they have planned to launch the BSNL 3G service in Namakkal from April 1st !

3G Spectrum Auction

The Union Budget estimate of 2009-10 includes a sum of Rs 35,000 crore as expected revenue from auction of 3G spectrum, Finance Minister Pranab Mukherjee said in Budget papers.

Just few days before the Budget, Government had decided to fix the reserve price at Rs 4,040 crore and allow only seven operators to offer 3G mobile services.

The auction, when happens would allow telecom firms to offer services such as high-speed Internet and video downloads on mobile phones. Telecom Minister A Raja had already said that the auction could happen by December of this year. The government had initially aimed to get Rs Rs.20,000 – Rs.25,000 crore.

The sale has been deferred twice. The finance ministry wanted the floor price of the auction to be Rs 4,040 crore double of what the DoT had suggested.

According to the guidelines, the government planned to conduct auction for 20 of India’s 22 telecom zones and had said companies could bid for four slots in most of these areas.

Lorry Freight Charges Hiked

Federation state president Mr.K Palanisamy said a decision on this would be taken at the federation’s meeting in Namakkal which is going to be held on July 13. Expressing serious reservations on the fuel price hike, he said the truck owners would be severely hit by the increase of Rs 2 per litre on diesel.

He also stated, “The transport industry is already burdened by road tax, hike in spare parts, tyre prices. Besides, the private toll gate operators on the National and State Highways are fleecing the transporters by imposing high toll fees. This hike in diesel price will cripple the already sick industry. Therefore, the truck owners feel that a 25 per cent increase in freight rates will help them tide over losses,”

Due to the increase in freight rates, it would lead to increase in prices of essential commodities, Palanisamy said that the truckers association was conscious of the public’s concern.“But with no other options left, the truck owners will demand the Centre to rollback the diesel price hike. If the government heeds the plea and effects a rollback, there will be no need to increase freight,”.

He recalled that in 2006 the set top boxes enjoyed a full exemption from basic customs duty it was to enable their free import for the smooth introduction of the Conditional Access System (CAS). And now the production capacity has come up in the country, so there will be a basic customs duty of 5 per cent on set top boxes. A move like this is bound to help the manufacturers of the country.

The Price of LCD Panels & Mobile accessories will get cheaper as he announced the reduction in basic customs duty on LCD panels from 10 % to 5 % to support indigenous production of LCD televisions and monitors.

Pranab Mukherjee said, “The electronic hardware industry has a strong potential for creating employment especially in the SME sector. I intend to reduce the basic customs duty on LCD panels from 10 per cent to five per cent to support indigenous production of LCD televisions”

Further, he proposed to reintroduce the same rate that was available to accessories, parts and components imported for the manufacture of mobile phones. So it means that the mobile accessories will get cheaper in price along with LCD Screens.
